How to apply for a federal rural broadband grant

I received the following today from the UTC (an organization primarily for power, gas and water utilities with telecom interests):

"RUS Tutorial Set For April 17:"

"The multi-association Rural Broadband Federation has scheduled a no-cost webcast tutorial for April 17 on how to apply for the $1.4 billion in federal loans authorized this year for deploying broadband systems in the rural United States. The webcast (scheduled for 75 minutes) features Rural Utilities Services Assistant Administrator for Telecommunications Roberta Purcell, the top federal official in charge of the loans program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She provides an in-depth discussion of the federal eligibility rules for the program, taking webcast viewers page by page through a rules presentation. The webcast is scheduled for 2 p.m. (Eastern) on Thursday, April 17, and is available at no cost to all members of the associations that comprise the Rural Broadband Federation. Members of the Federation are: the United Telecom Council (UTC), the Wireless Communications Association (WCA), Part-15.ORG, the National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA) and WCA's License Exempt Alliance."

"To get involved with UTC's Rural Communications Section, contact Karnel Thomas, UTC's Director of Member Services."
