”Eves government to provide affordable high-speed Internet to Kenora Region”

“The funding comes from the Ministry's Connect Ontario: Broadband Regional
Access (COBRA), a $55 million program that brings affordable, high-speed
telecommunications to northern and rural communities by providing the
necessary broadband infrastructure.”

“Lead by the Lake of the Woods Business Incentive Corporation, Faster Lake
of the Woods' partners include the City of Kenora, Kenora Catholic School
Board, Kenora Hydro Electric Corporation Ltd., Lake of the Woods Hospital,
Kenora Municipal Telephone System and Mykenora.com. The total investment with
partner funding is expected to reach $1.4 million.” (The province is putting up half the money).

Press release on the Kenora project also contains extensive background on the COBRA project’s province-wide activities.
