More information on the 3 largest Bells' intention to move ahead with FTTH (fiber to the home)

More information on the 3 largest Bells' intention to move ahead with FTTH (fiber to the home)

"Bells' letter addresses fiber's future"
Good Telephony analysis of the Bells' letter to potential FTTH vendors, although I don't necessarily agree with one commentator's view that Alcatel has the inside track.

"Delving into the RBOCs' adoption of common FTTP criteria"
A second Telephony article on the subject.

"Fiber Access Plans Proliferate"
Light Reading's article on the subject; it has links to the major vendors. One person quoted in the article notes that the Bells may be thinking of fiber to the curb, not necessarily FTTH

Two additional Light Reading articles:
"Telcos Tackle Triple Play"
"RBOCs Hungry for Fiber"'s take on the Bells' announcement
"The timing is political but the strategy is for real. With the FCC and cable breathing down their necks, the Bell telephone companies are finally getting serious about fiber optics in the last mile."
