Pennsylvania: PP&L to trial powerline broadband in a third area

PPL to try Internet service in 3rd area
"Power line communications, the futuristic technology that provides high-speed Internet access through standard household electrical outlets, could be coming to selected areas in Hanover Township, Northampton County, this fall."

" PPL and its competitors are essentially using their power lines to bridge the gap between a customer's home and a nearby fiber-optic network. The company is particularly well-suited to this method because it has an extensive fiber-optic network, built for internal purposes, that encircles the Lehigh Valley and other areas."
