Electric utility news

Electric utility news of interest from the last week:

"Tokyo Electric Power to double optic fiber network: report"
"Tokyo Electric Power Co., the world's largest private electric power company, will spend up to 70 billion yen (642 million dollars) to double the size of its optic fiber network, a report said."
That would be a massive FTTH (fiber to the home) project.

"Lawsuit over Entergy fiber optic lines goes to federal court"
"A federal court has taken over a lawsuit against Entergy Louisiana by property owners who contend that the power utility never sought their permission to string communications cables on electricity poles on their land."

Keokuk, Iowa: "Mayoral candidates share views with voters"
Keokuk and some other Iowa communities have been considering whether to take over the local investor-owned utility's facilities and establish municipal power systems.
